FuckYeahPolyamory: Why I Just Got Tested and You Should Too: Polyamory and STD Testing

For those of us who have multiple intimate relationships, this is worth a read. In summary, it says “Regarding STIs/STDs, you are effectively sleeping with all your partners’ partners, and their partners, etc etc. So as much as you may trust your partners, it is in your and their best interests for everyone to be tested regularly, and to use condoms at all times”.

The only problem I have with this is that fluid exchange is a vital part of my sexual psyche. For example, I need to taste Clem’s blood after I have damaged her. And snowballing my cum with her is, for us, a tangible expression and celebration of our intertwined love.

So we test more regularly than we might. We are intrusive and insistent about the sexual practices and STI safety measures used by all our partners. I am vaccinated against Hepatitis B.

This isn’t a perfect solution, and Clem and I and all our partners are exposing ourselves to some level of risk - that one of us does something ‘off piste’ and introduces something noxious to the wider polyamorous family. So part of our deal with each other is that we will all be responsible and trustworthy in our sexual pursuits (which isn’t at all the same as being vanilla or mundane!). And we have all discussed it, so we have made an informed joint decision to take these risks.

OK, that’s enough prattling about responsibility and safety. I’ll slip on some surgical gloves now and go surfing through the fine filth that you Tumbloids have to offer.
